Polish-born, London-based vocalist and composer Elvira Rey brings her Slavic roots together with jazz and Brazilian bossa nova. Her sound draws on a musical journey through folk, opera, pop and musical theatre, with storytelling at the heart of her work.
 
Raised in the Polish countryside, Elvira grew up surrounded by folk music and Polish pop. She began performing as a child, earning recognition at local singing competitions and then national song festivals before leaving home as a teenager to study opera. Her musical interests later led her beyond opera, though her love of classical music has remained.
 
After moving to London to study musical theatre, Elvira became involved in a theatre project “Szalony, Zielony Bez” exploring cultural identity, migration and belonging through interpretations of Polish songs, poetry and prose. Supported by Arts Council England, the Polish Cultural Institute and the Polish Embassy in London, the project was presented at the Polish Social and Cultural Association (POSK) in Hammersmith and Riverside Studios. It received strong coverage in the local press and earned a nomination for an Off West End Award (Offie).
 
As a solo artist, Elvira brings together the Polish songs of her heritage and childhood, the Great American Songbook and Brazilian repertoire, alongside her own compositions. Her forthcoming debut EP brings together original songs and reimagined classics, reflecting the joy, humour and emotional depth of her storytelling and expressive vocal style.
 
Since moving to London, Elvira has performed at prestigious London venues including the London Palladium, PizzaExpress Live Chelsea, Crazy Coqs and Jazz Café POSK. She has also taken part in the 14th edition of an “All Souls” Polish Jazz Festival in London in 2025. Her international performance experience spans Poland, Italy, Denmark and Germany.
